This policy document discusses the impact of climate change on water resources and, consequently, food security. It argues that these impacts will vary tremendously from place to place. It is expected that elevated temperatures will benefit agriculture in the northern latitudes, while large parts of the arid and semi-arid tropics will face declining rainfall and runoff . This is an ominous trend for the mostly food-insecure countries located there. After presenting the current situation and future perspectives, the document analyses five key policy responses.
