En particular, se revisa la brecha existente entre las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero compatibles con la meta de mantener la temperatura promedio por debajo de 2° C y las emisiones globales resultantes de la efectiva implementación de las CDN comunicadas a la fecha.

Getting Climate-Ready: A Guide for Schools on Climate Action

The Agriculture Sectors in the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions: Analysis

This analytical document provides an overview on how the agriculture sectors have been included in the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) and/or their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to the UNFCCC. It outlines mitigation contributions with a particular focus on agriculture and land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF), vulnerabilities under climate change and priority areas and/or activities for adaptation in the agriculture sectors.

Furthermore, this report summarizes information provided in the INDCs/ NDCs on Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA), mitigation-adaptation co-benefits and how countries have developed their INDCs and are planning to implement their NDCs. WMO provisional Statement on the Status of the Global Climate in 2016

This analytical document highlights how 2016 is very likely to be the world’s hottest year on record. Global temperatures for January to September 2016 have been 0.88 °C (1.58 °F) above the average for the 1961-90 reference period and approximately 1.2°C above those of the pre-industrial period. Preliminary data for October indicate that temperatures are continuing to be at a sufficiently high level to remain well above the 0.77 °C (1.39 °F) annual value set in 2015.

Summary Report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the Outcome of the Full-day Discussion on Specific Themes Relating to Human Rights and Climate Change

This activity report presents a full-day discussion on specific themes related to human rights and climate change, which was held on 6 March 2015 during the 28th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) pursuant to resolution 26/27. Two panel discussions took place. 

The resolution called for one panel discussion on identifying challenges and ways forward towards the realization of all human rights for all, including the right to development, in particular those in vulnerable situations, as well as the measures and best practices to promote and protect human rights that can be adopted by States in addressing the adverse effects of climate change on the full and effective enjoyment of human rights, and another panel discussion on how climate change has had an adverse impact on States’ efforts to progressively realize the right to food, and policies, lessons learned and good practices.
