The first coordination meeting of different sector groups for the development of a National Climate Change Learning Strategy was held at the University of Ghana, Legon. 43 participants, from governmental, non-governmental organizations and the private sector attended the workshop.
The objectives of this meeting were to: 1) Develop action plans under the five priority areas of the National Climate Change Policy (as well as for the general education sector), addressing the most important capacity building needs, and 2) Finalise a climate change learning questionnaire with the sector group leaders for completion by the entire sector group.
At the end of the day, each sector group came up with a draft list of capacity building needs and actions that were to be further discussed amongst them before the next meeting.
