The National Council for Climate Change and the Clean Development Mechanism (CNCCMDL) of the Dominican Republic and the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) signed a collaboration agreement in order to develop initiatives for education, training and public participation related to climate change. This agreement was signed as part of the implementation of the Dominican Republic’s climate change learning strategy, which was developed with support from the UN CC:Learn partnership and the Swiss Government.
The two institutions agreed to work together for the development, strengthening and consolidation of projects related to climate change in order to train the educational community on the impact of climate change and adaptation and mitigation actions. It notably includes the training of 200 UASD teachers as multipliers of learning on climate change, along with 100 students from the faculties of Science and Science Education.
