Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action on Climate Smart Dairy Livestock Value Chains in Uganda

This guidance document focuses on the Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA), as it triggers resilient low-carbon development in the dairy sector through the introduction of climate-smart agricultural practices and to bring the dairy production sector of Uganda onto a low carbon and more resilient path. Livestock and Climate Change

This guidance document explains how smallholder livestock keepers, fisherfolks and pastoralists are among the most vulnerable to climate change. Moreover, 14.5% of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions come from livestock supply chains. The main sources of emissions are: feed production and processing and methane from ruminants’ digestion.
