Colm Hastings, Green Economy Consultant, UNITAR
Colm Hastings is a Green Economy Consultant at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, where he has been part of the Green Development and Climate Change Programme since 2019. As well as hosting the Partnership for Action on Green Economy’s The Green Renaissance podcast, Colm also supports a range of capacity-building activities to promote climate action at the global and national levels.
Julia Villalba, Climate Change Learning Professional, UNITAR
Julia Villalba is a Climate Change Learning Professional of the Green Development and Climate Change Programme at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research. Julia has been developing assessment tools to measure the impact and effectiveness of training in the areas of climate change and the green economy. Her work also includes the development of e-learning resources, communication, data monitoring, and reporting.
The Class
Education is vital for raising the ambition needed to address climate change, and for building the knowledge and understanding that later transforms into new climate attitudes, behaviours and actions. To this end, the Climate Classroom will showcase some of the steps UN CC:Learn, its partners and its alumni have taken to think, talk, act climate, including a practical demonstration of the UN CC:e-Learn platform – the single largest dedicated learning platform on climate change.
