The Teacher

 

Miguel NARANJO is Programme Management Officer in the Latin America and the Caribbean Office of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). His professional background is Chemical Engineering, and he holds an MBA. He worked as process engineer and environmental supervisor for a cement and building construction materials transnational corporation and later joined UNEP in the climate change team. He later joined the UNFCCC secretariat, where he focused in capacity building for mitigation and carbon market mechanisms, promotion of climate action among the private sector and other non-State actors, and development of tools to implement climate action. Miguel also supported the intergovernmental process on climate change, leading the Presidency Support Team during UNFCCC COPs 21-23 and supporting other processes on observer engagement.<br /> <br /> Since December 2022, Miguel is back with UNEP, managing the activities of the Forum of Ministers of Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean.<br />
