The Class

This class is designed to (i) increase participants’ awareness about the disproportionate impact of climate change on women and the role of inclusive entrepreneurship in making climate action more gender-responsive, and (ii) share with participants the experience of entrepreneurship support interventions for women entrepreneurs in climate-tech. In this session you will hear from a woman entrepreneur in climate action; and the session will emphasize the importance of women shaping the climate agenda.

The Teachers

 

Amar is a Consultant at the UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and works at the intersection of women's entrepreneurship and climate action. He has worked across South and Southeast Asia and Africa on themes such as livelihoods, women’s entrepreneurship, social-enterprise ecosystem building, gender mainstreaming, impact investing, SME financing, enterprise support and the care economy.

Rhea See is the Co-founder and CEO of She Loves Tech, the world’s largest and leading tech startup competition and acceleration platform for women. Under her leadership, She Loves Tech has expanded to 80 countries, building a pipeline of 15,000 women-led tech startups from 110 countries. With a vision to unlock $1 billion in capital for women by 2030, Rhea is at the forefront of driving global change in the tech industry and gender lens investing. To date, competition winners have raised ~US$600M. Rhea's influence extends as a Venture Advisor for Kaya Founders and other Southeast Asia-based funds. She is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, UN EQUALS Partner, UN Women 30 for 2030 Advisor, Asia 21 Next Generation Fellow, Walmart Innovation Council Member, and has been recognized as a Tatler Gen.T Leader and one of Singapore’s 100 Women in Tech. Her expertise in diversity, inclusion, and entrepreneurship is highly sought after by the UN, governments, Fortune 500 companies, and other influential organizations, where she provides strategic guidance on creating innovative solutions for ecosystem building, digital inclusion and advancing gender equality across the globe.

Konshika Amani Koeswara is a co-founding team member of Buangdisini, an innovative waste management startup with a mission to streamline the waste supply chain, creating both profitability and positive environmental impact. With a background in International Relations, Konshika brings a strong passion for sustainability and has a diverse portfolio that extends beyond waste management. She has been actively involved in initiatives focused on women’s and youth empowerment, underscoring her commitment to making a difference on multiple fronts. Her unique blend of expertise and dedication positions her as a valuable contributor to the sustainability and social impact space.
