Mr. Bob Natifu is the focal point for UN CC:Learn activities in Uganda, serving as Senior Climate Change Officer-Outreach with the Climate Change Department, Ministry of Water and Environment. He is responsible for supporting the implementation of Article 6 of the UNFCCC, and as such has been an invaluable asset for the development and implementation of the National Climate Change Learning Strategy.
Bob is a professional journalist, graduate from Uganda Christian University Mukono, with considerable experience and a keen interest in climate change and international development. Throughout his work, he has acquired several skills in climate change and participated in several international trainings including the Adaptation Academy 2011’s Integrated foundation course, offered by the Global Climate Adaptation Partnership (GCAP), the Climate Systems Analysis Group (CSAG), and the SysTem for Analysis, Research and Training (START), as well as a training on ecosystem-based climate change adaptation offered by the African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD).
Bob has also written several research papers and publications linked to his research interests, which include perceptions of climate risks, adaptation to climate variability and change, climate governance and policy (and particularly the roles of climate policies in shaping adaptation from the bottom-up), managing climate risks under uncertainties, climate finance and investments (and especially the place of private sector finance) and women and the natural resources dilemma in Africa.
