Support and Funding for UN CC:Learn
Funding for the UN CC:Learn Pilot Implementation Phase from 2011-2013, including support for five pilot projects, is provided by the Swiss Development Cooperation. Support for additional pilot projects is being sought from interested donors. A project document is available upon request.
Initial activities to develop UN CC:Learn in 2009 were supported by in-kind and financial resources provided by UNITAR, UNDP and UNFPA. These resources supported professional coordination, consultancies, IT development, contracts related to side events and exhibits, promotional materials, and engagement in international workshops featuring CC:Learn. A secondment by UNDP to the UNITAR CC:Learn Secretariat provided services to support outreach and communication. The 2009 financial contribution of UNFPA allowed, inter alia, an active presence of UN CC:Learn during the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference (e.g. through the UN CC:Learn Exhibition).
In addition, the valuable input of UN CC:Learn Focal Points has been instrumental in getting the initiative started.
